Liam Garner, a 19-year-old from Long Beach, California, cycled from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to Ushuaia, Argentina, covering 32,000 kilometers (nearly 20,000 miles) over the course of 527 days. Garner, who had previously ridden from Los Angeles to San Francisco, documented his journey through 14 countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. Despite experiencing some lows, including being robbed and spending a month in the hospital after coming off his bike in Colombia, Garner has no regrets and plans to write a book about his trip to inspire other young people to take on a similar journey.
