Overbooked Royal Caribbean Cruise Leaves Guests Stranded
Several passengers, including Jai Raynor and his wife, were denied boarding on a Royal Caribbean cruise from Brisbane due to overbooking. The couple had booked a guarantee cabin but were informed at the terminal that no rooms were available. Initially offered a full refund and future cruise certificate worth 25% of their fare, the couple received an amended compensation of a full refund, future cruise certificates worth their full fare, and complimentary Deluxe Beverage packages after contacting the cruise line and posting about the incident on social media. Royal Caribbean stated that demand exceeded available rooms and apologized for the inconvenience caused. The impacted guests were given options to rebook or receive a refund and future cruise credit.
