"Polk County Unites to Combat Opioid Crisis: Event on Sept. 26 to Develop Strategy"
Polk County's Health and Human Services Division, in collaboration with Polk Vision and the Crescendo Consulting Group, is hosting an event on September 26 to discuss the county's approach towards opioid prevention and treatment. The county expects to receive $30 million in opioid abatement funds over the next 18 years, which will be used for prevention efforts, treatment, and recovery services. The event aims to bring community stakeholders together to prioritize categories of spending for the funds and develop a targeted strategic plan. The plan will be presented to the County Commission and benefit Polk County residents affected by the opioid epidemic.
