Fani Willis Ordered to Release Trump Case Records Amid GOP Pressure

A Fulton County judge has ordered the District Attorney's office to provide Judicial Watch with documents from its election interference investigation involving Donald Trump, which were shared with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the U.S. House Jan. 6th Committee. This follows a lawsuit by Judicial Watch after the DA's office failed to meet a filing deadline, violating the Open Records Act. The DA's office must comply within five days, and a hearing is set for December to determine attorney fees.

"Trump Co-Defendant Subpoenas Georgia Prosecutors for Testimony in Misconduct Hearing"

One of Donald Trump's co-defendants in the Georgia 2020 election subversion case is suing the Fulton County district attorney’s office, alleging that they are withholding information that could prove allegations of an improper romantic relationship between the district attorney and her top deputy. The lawsuit seeks documents and accuses the office of violating Georgia’s Open Records Act. The district attorney's office denies the allegations and contends that they have responded to the records requests. The co-defendant's lawyers claim intentional withholding of information and are seeking various documents. The case is scheduled for an evidentiary hearing on February 15, and the district attorney has requested a trial date for August.

Controversy over release of Nashville school shooter's writings.

Parents of The Covenant School victims and surviving students filed a motion in court asking for no release of the shooter's documents, even redacted versions to the public. The suit represents 75% of families associated with The Covenant School. Six people died in the mass shooting in March, three of them 9-year-old children. The parents' attorneys argue that the Tennessee Open Records Act cannot apply in the name of school safety and that there is an "implicit exception." The unredacted version of the documents is now with a judge.
