A 13-year-old boy from Kentucky drowned in the Gulf of Mexico at Destin Beach, Florida. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for a distressed swimmer and found several children struggling to swim. They were able to rescue several of them, but one child was unable to be found. The missing boy's body was later found in the Gulf of Mexico waters.

Tragedy strikes as 13-year-old drowns off the coast of Destin, Florida.

A 13-year-old boy from Kentucky drowned near Destin, Florida, while on vacation. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's office responded to a call for a swimmer in distress and found several children struggling to swim. They were able to rescue several of them, but one was unable to be found. Crews assisted by the U.S. Coast Guard launched a search for the missing boy and later found his body in the Gulf of Mexico waters. The name of the boy and where he is from in Kentucky have not yet been released.
