Florida Deputy Fired After Fatal Shooting of Airman
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office has fired Deputy Eddie Duran after an internal investigation found his use of deadly force in the fatal shooting of Air Force Senior Airman Roger Fortson was not objectively reasonable and violated agency policy. The incident, which occurred on May 3, is still under criminal investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Fortson's family has hired civil rights attorney Ben Crump and is seeking justice.
