Greta Thunberg Arrested at London Oil Conference, Joins Climate Protesters
Greta Thunberg was reportedly arrested at a protest outside an oil and gas conference in London. The 20-year-old climate activist joined demonstrators from climate group Fossil Free London in blocking entrances to the Intercontinental Hotel, where the Energy Intelligence Forum was taking place. Thunberg and other protestors aimed to disrupt the conference and draw attention to the influence of the fossil fuel industry on climate politics. Greenpeace also participated in the protest, with two climbers unfurling a banner reading "Make Big Oil Pay." This marks the first day of a three-day action to shut down the conference.
