An officer in Gaithersburg, Maryland, was seriously injured after being struck by a suspected drunk driver on Interstate-270. The officer was attempting to deploy stop sticks when the vehicle hit him. Two people, including the driver, were taken into custody after the vehicle was stopped by another officer. All northbound lanes were closed for several hours, causing major traffic delays.
