Abortion Restrictions and Dobbs Decision Worsen Women's Health, Say OB-GYNs
A survey of OBGYNs conducted by KFF reveals that the effects of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling have had an overwhelmingly negative effect on maternal health care, including maternal mortality and how pregnancy-related medical emergencies are managed. The survey also found that the ruling has led to a rise in requests for sterilization and has made the jobs of OBGYNs more difficult and legally perilous. Abortion access has fallen in many states, leading to an increase in demand for contraception, particularly long-lasting solutions. The Dobbs ruling has also made it harder to attract new OBGYNs to the field.
