AEW star Keith Lee reacted to his real-life partner Michin's upcoming match to crown the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion at NXT Battleground. Michin, who won her spot by defeating Tatum Paxley, expressed her goal to match her husband's achievement of winning the North American title. Keith advised her not to relinquish the title as he did.
WWE had plans for Indi Hartwell to wrestle at NXT Battleground, but those plans changed due to her injury. A tournament was started to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion, with Lyra Valkyria and Tiffany Stratton slated to compete in the finals. Stratton was originally picked to win the title in a change of plans during the match where Hartwell was injured, but Hartwell returned to finish the match and retain. Shawn Michaels pointed out that so many roster members moving up to the main roster is evidence that the system is effective and working.
