Injury Forces WWE to Alter NXT Battleground Plans

WWE had plans for Indi Hartwell to wrestle at NXT Battleground, but those plans changed due to her injury. A tournament was started to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion, with Lyra Valkyria and Tiffany Stratton slated to compete in the finals. Stratton was originally picked to win the title in a change of plans during the match where Hartwell was injured, but Hartwell returned to finish the match and retain. Shawn Michaels pointed out that so many roster members moving up to the main roster is evidence that the system is effective and working.
