Fundraising Challenges for NY House GOP Amid Speaker Fight
Donations to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) have slowed, with the committee raising slightly over $5 million in October, about half of what it raised in previous off-year cycles. This comes as the NRCC faces cash challenges and trails its Democratic counterpart by about $10 million. The House Republicans' campaign arm has been affected by the recent leadership ouster and party infighting, which left them without a chief fundraiser. Despite a strong online fundraising surge following Speaker Mike Johnson's election, the NRCC's fundraising has been lackluster compared to previous years. Meanwhile, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has raised $8.1 million in October and $101.3 million year-to-date, breaking its previous fundraising record for a presidential cycle off-year.
