Discord is changing the way usernames work by cutting the four digits at the end of each handle, meaning every user will have to pick a new, unique username. Usernames will be capped at 32 characters, and are restricted in certain ways. However, users can continue to use display names. The change is rolling out for older accounts first.
Discord is launching an in-app soundboard that allows users to play sounds in voice channels for fun or trolling. The feature will be available on the desktop app only, but users on mobile can still hear the sounds. Nitro subscribers will have added benefits, including the ability to use uploaded sounds across different servers.
