Nighttime power from space: a Stirling engine harvests ambient cold
UC Davis researchers built a compact Stirling engine that generates mechanical power at night by pairing warmth from the ground with the cold of space via a radiating panel, delivering about 400 milliwatts per square meter and showing potential for ventilating buildings or greenhouses without fuel.
