"Groundbreaking Review Debunks Vaping as a Gateway to Smoking"
A large review of 319 randomized controlled trials involving over 157,000 smokers has identified the three most effective methods to quit smoking: varenicline and cytisine medications, as well as nicotine e-cigarettes. These interventions were found to be more successful than other methods, with approximately 14% of smokers who used these aids successfully quitting for at least six months. Combining two forms of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) was also found to be effective. The study highlights the importance of quitting smoking due to its significant health risks and the challenges individuals face in doing so.
