He had recently completed his fourth round of chemotherapy and was recognized by the Maple Leafs during their Hockey Fights Cancer night. Amirov had signed an entry-level contract with the team in 2021 and had promising performances in the Kontinental Hockey League and international tournaments. The entire Maple Leafs organization is devastated by his loss and extends their deepest condolences to his family and friends.
