BYD achieved a significant milestone by selling 3,024,417 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2023, meeting its target of 3 million units and marking a 62.3% increase year-on-year. The company saw a record 341,043 NEV sales in December alone, with a notable 70.41% increase in battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from the previous year. BYD's international sales also surged, with a 493.51% increase in overseas NEV sales for the year. The company has ceased production of internal combustion engine vehicles, focusing on BEVs and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and is rapidly expanding its global market share, catching up with Tesla in the BEV segment.
