"Foreign Funds, Global Influence, and Delhi Police: Unraveling the NewsClick Case"

Delhi Police's special cell has uncovered evidence that web portal NewsClick received ₹28.29 crore between 2018 and 2021 from entities linked to American millionaire Neville Roy Singham, who is accused of spreading Chinese propaganda. The funds were received from four different entities, including the Justice and Education Fund and GSPAN LLC. A portion of the funds was transferred to Gautam Navlakha, an accused in the Bhima Koregaon case. The arrests of NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and HR head Amit Chakravarty were made in connection with a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Enforcement Directorate also found evidence of foreign remittances amounting to ₹38 crore and payments to journalists. CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury's residence was raided as well. NewsClick has denied all charges.
