"Pentagon Leaker Jack Teixeira Admits Guilt, Accepts 16-Year Prison Sentence"
Jack Teixeira, a former Massachusetts Air National guardsman, accepted a 16-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to leaking top-secret Pentagon documents on Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The 22-year-old, who had top-secret security clearance, posted the classified documents on a gaming app and faced charges that could have led to 60 years in prison. As part of the plea deal, he also agreed to pay a $50,000 fine and undergo three years of supervised release. Attorney General Merrick Garland stated that the leaked information could have caused grave damage to national security.
