
Jan. 6 defendant fires shots at police during standoff in Texas
Nathan Pelham, a defendant charged in relation to the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol breach, has been charged with possessing a firearm as a felon after allegedly firing at law enforcement in North Texas. Pelham had been expected to surrender himself for charges related to the Capitol breach, but instead fired towards authorities during a welfare check at his home. He faces up to 15 years in federal prison on the firearm charge and three years on the Capitol breach charges.
