Pokemon players are upset about the nerf to Dark Void, the signature move of the Mythical Pokemon Darkrai. The move's accuracy was reduced and it now fails when used by any Pokemon other than Darkrai. Additionally, the chance of inflicting sleep was lowered from 80% to 50%. The biggest nerf was that only Darkrai could use Dark Void after Generation 7, resulting in both Darkrai and Smeargle being affected. While the nerf was intended to balance the competitive scene, some fans feel it was unnecessary and have expressed disappointment.

Players of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk DLC can now find and catch the mythical Pokemon Meloetta. To spawn Meloetta, trainers need to go to a specific spot in the Coastal Biome of the Indigo Disk and spin their character clockwise for at least 10 seconds. They should then start the camera and switch to the Sepia filter. By panning the camera around the location, players will hear a change in music and singing, indicating the presence of Meloetta. Once found, players can approach and catch it.

After decades of missed opportunities, a Pokemon player finally encounters the Mythical Pokemon Celebi in Pokemon Crystal on the Nintendo 3DS. Previously, Celebi could only be obtained through real-world events or online distributions, but the recent Virtual Console release of Pokemon Crystal allowed players to receive a GS Ball and encounter Celebi in-game. The player can then transfer Celebi to later games using the Poke Transporter app.
