35,000-Year-Old Mummified Saber-Tooth Cub Discovered in Siberia
A mummified saber-tooth cat cub, belonging to the species Homotherium latidens, has been discovered in Siberian permafrost, providing the first real image of this prehistoric predator. The cub's features, such as deep lips that may have concealed its saber-like teeth, muscular proportions, and unexpected dark brown fur, offer new insights into its appearance and hunting adaptations.
