Enhanced Graphics and Refresh Rate Improvements Coming to Windows 11
Microsoft is testing a Windows 11 update that automatically adjusts refresh rates on multiple monitors based on the content being displayed, improving power usage and potentially reducing GPU fan usage. This feature will be particularly beneficial for multitasking scenarios like gaming and watching videos simultaneously. The update should also help Nvidia RTX 30- and 40-series Founders Edition cards maintain their zero RPM mode, even with multiple high refresh rate displays. Additionally, Windows 11 is introducing Dynamic Refresh Rate improvements for laptops, which will lower the screen's refresh rate when battery saver mode is enabled. These refresh rate enhancements are currently being tested and will be available to all Windows 11 users in the coming months.
