Indo-Pacific Training: Super Garuda Shield Unites U.S. and Partners

The U.S. and partner forces are participating in Exercise Super Garuda Shield, a large-scale military exercise in Indonesia involving seven participating nations and 12 observers. The training includes joint drills, academic exchanges, and professional development exercises, with a focus on enhancing warfighting readiness and interoperability. The exercise reflects the growing demand for multinational training events in the Indo-Pacific region and demonstrates the agility and buy-in of regional allies. The U.S. leads over 40 army-to-army and joint exercises each year as part of Operation Pathways, contributing to a more distributed, mobile, resilient, and lethal force posture in the region. The exercises also serve as a response to China's aggressive behavior in the region.
