Air Quality Alerts and Action Days issued across Midwest due to wildfires.
An Air Quality Alert has been issued for four counties in central Ohio, including Franklin, Fairfield, Licking, and Delaware, due to pollution levels that could worsen on Wednesday. The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission has deemed the 112 Air Quality Index rating as unhealthy for sensitive groups, and predicted that the conditions could reach a rating of 164 on Wednesday, which is the first time in 20 years. MORPC recommended Ohioans plan outdoor activities for the morning when pollution levels are lower, shorten time outside, and reduce local contributions to the pollution by driving less and avoiding gas-powered lawn equipment.
