"Hidden for Millennia: Scientists Discover Two New Mole Species in Turkey"
Two new species of living moles, Talpa hakkariensis and Talpa davidiana tatvanensis, have been discovered in Turkey, potentially existing undetected for 3 million years. These moles are capable of surviving extreme temperatures and have increased the total number of Eurasian mole species from 16 to 18. Further investigations are needed to identify more potential mole species and inform conservation efforts in the region.
