Apple Prevails in Legal Battles Over Mobile Browser Restrictions and Patent Infringement.

The UK's Competition and Market Authority (CMA) will not be investigating Apple's policies on mobile browsers and cloud gaming services after Apple won an appeal that forced UK regulators to drop the investigation. The CMA launched an investigation in November 2021 into the cloud gaming and mobile browser restrictions put in place by both Apple and Google, suggesting that the two companies were holding back innovation and increasing costs for web developers, cloud gaming service providers, and browser vendors.

"Apple emerges victorious in multiple legal appeals"

Apple has won its appeal against the UK's antitrust regulator's decision to investigate its mobile browser and cloud gaming services. The Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) ruled that the regulator, the Competition and Market Authority (CMA), had "no power" to launch such a probe because it did so too late. The CMA opened a full investigation in November into the dominance of Apple and Alphabet Inc's Google in mobile browsers and the possibility of the iPhone maker restricting the cloud gaming market through its app store.
