A 78-year-old woman from Sunrise Beach, Missouri, died after experiencing an unknown medical event while lowering a boat into the Lake of the Ozarks. The incident occurred when the woman was pulling the trailer out of the water, causing the Jeep she was in to go back into the lake. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which marks their 32nd fatal crash of 2023.

Two people have died and one person has been injured in a small plane crash at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. The crash occurred shortly after the plane departed from Grand Glaize Airport, and the wreckage was found in a treeline near an old golf course. The Osage Beach Fire Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol are investigating the incident, and the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified. The Missouri Highway Patrol has canceled an AMBER Alert in Polk County, Missouri, after two abducted children were located and found to be safe. The children were taken from a home in Morrisville by Thomas Wahlert, but investigators were able to locate them within an hour of issuing the alert.

James K. Heitman, an assistant circuit attorney in St. Louis, died in a fiery car crash on I-270 in south St. Louis County. Heitman, 32, struck the rear of one of the three vehicles in the third lane, causing a chain reaction and starting a fire that engulfed three of the vehicles. One driver suffered minor injuries, while two drivers were uninjured.
