Startup's Free 4K TV Offer Draws Over 100K Registrations in 36 Hours
Over 100,000 people registered for a free 55-inch 4K TV set from Telly, a startup that displays a continuous rotation of ads on a second screen. The TV sets would cost over $1,000 at retail, and Telly expects to ship out the first of 500,000 free TVs in the US starting this summer. Two-thirds of those signing up for a Telly are Gen Z and millennial households. In exchange for the free TV, users must submit detailed demographic info and agree to let their data be used for serving targeted ads.
