"Bezos Awards $100 Million to Longoria and McRaven for Philanthropy"
Retired Navy Adm. William H. McRaven, known for overseeing the Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden, has been awarded $50 million for charitable use from Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez as part of the Bezos Courage and Civility Award. The money will go to charities supporting children of veterans and those working on veteran mental health and brain issues. McRaven, the first Bezos winner associated with veteran and military initiatives, plans to use the funds to educate children of fallen veterans, support veterans' mental health, and develop future military leaders through education.
