Remembering Mike Shuster: NPR's Global Voice Silenced at 76

Mike Shuster, an award-winning foreign and diplomatic correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR), has passed away at the age of 76. Throughout his career spanning over three decades, Shuster covered major global events, including the Gulf wars, conflicts in Israel and Palestine, the Bosnian civil war, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and nuclear nonproliferation. He was known for his extensive reporting on Iran and was one of the few American correspondents to spend extended time there. Shuster received numerous awards for his reporting and continued his work as a freelance producer and writer after retiring from NPR in 2013. He died at home in Southern California due to complications from Parkinson's disease.
