Nick Reiner Pleads Not Guilty in Parents' Brentwood Slayings
Nick Reiner, 32, pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court to two counts of murder with an enhancement that could carry the death penalty or life without parole, in the stabbing deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, at their Brentwood home on Dec. 14. He appeared in court and was ordered to a future date of April 29; he is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility as prosecutors weigh whether to seek the death penalty, with a preliminary hearing likely delayed due to the volume of evidence. Reiner is represented by deputy public defender Kimberly Greene after his initial lawyer withdrew; his district attorney, Nathan Hochman, noted the case remains under consideration for capital charges.
