Richard Worley nominated to replace Baltimore Police Commissioner Harrison.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison has stepped down from his position, and Mayor Brandon Scott has nominated Richard Worley, a 25-year veteran of the department, to replace him. Worley will serve as acting commissioner immediately and is also Scott's nominee for the permanent post. Harrison, who has served as the city's police commissioner since 2019, said he has no job offers and has not interviewed for any other positions. The move comes after Harrison denied leaving for a chief position in nearby Washington, D.C., during a Baltimore City Council hearing.
