NYC faces backlash over plan to house asylum seekers in Yonkers hotel.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano criticized New York City's "sheer lack of communication and planning" regarding the relocation of up to 100 migrant families to a Ramada Inn in Yonkers. Spano called on Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul to work with Yonkers and other Westchester officials to come up with a plan and funding to deal with the migrant influx. Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus filed two lawsuits to stop Adams from housing migrants at hotels in the town of Newburgh. More than 60,000 migrants have arrived in New York City in the weeks before the end of Title 42.
