Masking Policies Reinstated at UW Health and MultiCare Facilities as Flu, RSV, and COVID Cases Surge
UW Health has temporarily adjusted its masking policies to combat the spread of the flu, RSV, and COVID during the respiratory illness season. Masks are now mandatory in waiting areas, scheduling areas, and exam rooms, while not required in cafeterias, lobbies, or administrative areas. The Chief Quality Officer at UW Health, Dr. Jeff Pothof, expects the respiratory illness season to last for at least another two months and emphasizes the importance of wearing masks to prevent transmission. The hospital will continue to monitor the levels of cold, flu, and RSV and adjust their policies accordingly.
