JCPS Bus Driver Shortage Prompts Call for Federal Assistance and Parent Involvement
Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) in Kentucky reported that all bus riders were dropped off at their stops by 7:13 p.m. on Tuesday, marking an improvement from previous transportation issues that caused delays of up to 9:58 p.m. JCPS had canceled classes for a week due to these problems, but students have now returned to school. The district has implemented a new "Return to School" website to assist parents and is seeking forgiveness for missed days to avoid extending the school year.
