
"General Motors Slashes 1,300 Jobs at Michigan Manufacturing Plants"
General Motors is laying off 1,314 employees at manufacturing plants in Michigan, including 945 at the Orion Assembly Subsystems Plant and 369 at the Lansing Grand River Assembly/Stamping and Lansing Regional Stamping. The layoffs come months after reaching a new labor contract with the United Auto Workers (UAW). GM plans to offer impacted employees jobs elsewhere in the company.
