Murder-Charge Candidate Appears to Win Arkansas Sheriff GOP Primary
Aaron Spencer, charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a man accused of sexually assaulting his daughter, appears to have won the Republican primary for Lonoke County sheriff with about 54% of the vote, defeating the long-serving incumbent. A trial is expected later this year; if elected and convicted, he would be barred from serving as sheriff.
