"HPV Vaccine: A Powerful Shield Against Infection and Cancer"

A new study published in Pediatrics has found that the HPV vaccine, Gardasil 9, continues to be effective in reducing cancer risk associated with the nation's most common sexually transmitted infection. The study followed nearly 1,300 people vaccinated between the ages of 9 and 15 for 10 years and found that the vaccine provided long-term protection against the nine strains of HPV it targets. The research adds to growing evidence of the vaccine's efficacy, with HPV infections dropping significantly since its introduction in 2006. The study suggests that booster shots may not be necessary at this time.
