Gavin Raeburn, the former studio head of Playground Games, has formed a new AAA studio called Lighthouse Games. The studio is currently working on an unannounced new IP, but given Raeburn's background in racing games, it's possible that Lighthouse is working on a new racing game. Raeburn is joined by 30 former colleagues, including "key founding members" of Playground Games and other industry-leading talent.

The studio is currently working on an unannounced new IP and plans to create a long-running franchise. Lighthouse Games is comprised of a team of 30 experienced developers and is not seeking funding, instead planning to work with a publisher who takes a longer-term view of the market. Raeburn is keen to support local universities, hire graduates, and create mentoring opportunities for his team.
