The studio is currently working on an unannounced new IP, but given Raeburn's background in racing games, it's possible that Lighthouse is working on a new racing game. Raeburn is joined by 30 former colleagues, including "key founding members" of Playground Games and other industry-leading talent.

The studio is currently working on an unannounced new IP and plans to create a long-running franchise. Lighthouse Games is comprised of a team of 30 experienced developers and is not seeking funding, instead planning to work with a publisher who takes a longer-term view of the market. Raeburn is keen to support local universities, hire graduates, and create mentoring opportunities for his team.
Gavin Raeburn, co-founder of Playground Games and creator of Forza Horizon, is reportedly leading a new video game development studio that is recruiting racing game development talent. The studio is currently referred to as "Unannounced Startup" and is believed to be creating a new driving game. Other former Playground Games and Sumo Digital developers have also founded Maverick Games, a new independent "AAA studio." Despite losing talent to these new studios, Playground Games remains a significant outfit with over 300 employees across its two studios.
