Bob Huggins punished for anti-gay slur with suspension and salary reduction.
West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins has been suspended for three games, had his salary reduced by $1 million, and will be required to take training sessions after twice using an anti-gay slur during a live radio interview. The university will work with its LGBTQ+ Center to develop the training sessions, which will address all aspects of inequality. Huggins' salary reduction will be used to support the center. He will also make a substantial donation to Xavier University to support its Center for Faith and Justice and its Center for Diversity and Inclusion.
