Bob Huggins Breaks Silence on DUI and WVU Departure
Former West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins addressed his departure from the university and his DUI arrest for the first time on a radio show. Huggins denied the university's claim that he didn't know where he was during the incident and expressed remorse for letting down the players, fans, and the state of West Virginia. He voluntarily went to rehab after the arrest and later resigned from his position, claiming that he was convinced by the athletic department that he would lose his benefits if he didn't. Huggins expressed a desire to have the opportunity to apologize and discuss his situation with the athletic department. West Virginia University has since appointed Josh Eilert as the interim coach.
