Real Salt Lake's Leagues Cup match against León was postponed due to severe thunderstorms in the Salt Lake Valley. The game, originally scheduled for August 3, will be rescheduled. Real Salt Lake went 1-1 in the group stage, while León went 2-0. Real Salt Lake will look to bounce back from their recent loss and continue their Leagues Cup run in front of their home fans.

LAFC lost to León 1-0 in the CONCACAF Champions League final, giving León a 3-1 victory in the two-leg playoff. León's Lucas Di Yorio scored the game's only goal midway through the first half. LAFC coach Steve Cherundolo made five lineup changes for the second leg, choosing to defend with a five-man back line, but it didn't work out. This was LAFC's second time falling in the CCL final in four years. Liga MX clubs have won 17 of the last 18 CCL championships.

León beat LAFC 1-0 in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions League final to win its first-ever continental title by a final of 3-1 on aggregate. The result earns Leon a spot in next year's Club World Cup. LAFC will now carry on with its 2023 MLS season. Both LAFC and Leon, as well as the rest of all teams from MLS and Liga MX, will enter the expanded 2023 edition of the Leagues Cup tournament in July.

A Twitter user has calculated that Leon, the protagonist of Resident Evil 4, would need an attache case that's at least 176cm long and around 140-150cm wide to fit all of his weapons, ammo, herbs, and cute charms inside of it. The largest case you can obtain in the Resident Evil 4 remake has a 9x13 grid layout. Capcom's recent updates have made the game look sharper on console, but the previous remakes have seen some features removed.

Matthew Mercer will reprise his role as Leon in the upcoming CGI movie Resident Evil Death Island, which takes place after Resident Evil Vendetta. The movie will feature main characters from the series fighting off a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, with a new trailer showing them in Alcatraz Prison. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will distribute the movie worldwide, except in Japan.

Capcom has released the first trailer for the latest animated Resident Evil movie, Death Island, which features a team-up between Leon and Jill, as well as Chris and Claire. The movie is set on Alcatraz Island and includes fast zombies and undead sharks. The movie will be released in Japan on July 7 and worldwide at a later date.

The third and likely final episode of the Resident Evil anime, created as promo for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake, features a surreal sequence where Leon and Ashley ask an old man to build them a vehicle, only to be killed by villagers and monsters and ascend to heaven. The old man crashes his helicopter into their spirits, resulting in the familiar "You are dead" screen. The Resident Evil 4 remake releases on March 24 for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S, and reviews are already out, with GameSpot giving it a 10/10 rating.
