Laurens County Standoff Ends in Tragic Death

A man in Laurens County, South Carolina died from a self-inflicted wound while deputies were serving a warrant for criminal sexual conduct. The man barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to comply with deputies, presenting what appeared to be a weapon. The SWAT team arrived and used non-lethal methods, but the person continued to be combative and noncompliant. When deputies were able to enter the home, they found the person with a self-inflicted wound. The man was identified as 57-year-old Keith William Dramstad. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting in the investigation.
