
Grandma's Marathon: Newcomer Upsets Defending Champ in Thrilling Race.
Lauren Hagans won the women's division of the 47th running of Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, beating two-time defending champion Dakotah Lindwurm with a time of 2:25:55. Hagans, a first-time marathon runner and former Baylor University Athletics Hall of Fame distance runner, finished with the fourth-fastest time ever. Lindwurm, who fell ill with kidney stones three weeks prior to the race, finished in second place with a time of 2:26:56. Hagans said she was excited to do another marathon.
