The disease, known as canine infectious respiratory disease complex, has been spreading among dogs across the country, with cases reported in multiple states. The Oliver family's Golden Retriever fell ill while competing in dog shows and was diagnosed with the illness. After a stranger online suggested chloramphenicol, Ike's condition improved within hours, and he was able to return home. The disease has stumped veterinarians, and there is no specific treatment yet, although doxycycline is also being considered as a potential option.
