Retired Air Force officer Larry Rendall Brock Jr. was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. Brock, who stormed the Capitol dressed in combat gear and carrying zip-tie handcuffs, believed baseless conspiracy theories that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Republican incumbent Donald Trump. Prosecutors had recommended a sentence of five years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Brock was convicted of all six counts in his indictment, including obstruction of an official proceeding.

Texas veteran sentenced to prison for Capitol breach.

Larry Brock, a US Air Force veteran, has been sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol. Brock was found guilty on six charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding, during a bench trial in November 2022. Prosecutors allege that Brock walked around the Senate chamber for eight minutes during the Capitol attack, rifling through senators’ desks while wearing a helmet, tactical vest, and carrying plastic flex-cuffs. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the Capitol attack before imposing a sentence and read some of Brock’s social media posts during the hearing, including one that said: “I bought myself body armor and a helmet for a civil war that is coming.”

Multiple Capitol Attackers Sentenced to Prison Terms.

The judge also sentenced him to two years of supervised release after his prison term and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service.
