"Discovery of Massive Bent Radio Jet in Abell 514 Galaxy Cluster"
Astronomers using the upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (uGMRT) have detected a large-scale bent radio jet in the galaxy cluster Abell 514. The radio emissions originate from the active galactic nucleus (AGN) and extend towards the southern periphery, with a measured size of about 2.3 million light years. The observations also revealed a discontinuity in X-ray surface brightness and high polarization, indicating jet plasma redistribution along the cold front of a recent cluster merger. This finding contributes to our understanding of large-scale structure formation and the evolution of the universe.
