AMD is rebranding older laptop processors into new series, creating four main tiers that include both recent and older chips, which can be confusing for consumers seeking the latest technology but may offer good value through refurbished options.
AMD and Intel have detailed their next-gen laptop CPU families, including the Strix Point, Hawk Point, Arrow Lake, and Lunar Lake. AMD's upcoming Hawk Point APUs will feature Zen 4 cores and RDNA 3 iGPUs, while the Strix Point APUs will have a mix of Zen 5 and Zen 5C cores. Intel's 1st Gen Core Ultra lineup, Meteor Lake, is set to launch in early 2024, followed by the 2nd Gen Core Ultra family, Arrow Lake, in late 2024.
